Zamboni Driver

We are looking for a part-time Zamboni Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for maintaining the quality of the ice surfaces and reports directly to the Director of Ice Operations.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to lift 75 pounds.

  • Ability to concentrate in high-stress, noisy situations with large crowds.

  • Ability to work in a variety of environments including bright lights, dust, heat, cold, low lighting, loud noises.

  • Comfortable climbing ladders and operating scissor lift at working heights.

  • Ability to supervise and train employees in the daily operation of the ISC.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • High School and/or Vocational school graduate

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.

  • Some experience in auto mechanics and HVAC troubleshooting desirable

Responsibilities:

  • safely operate the Ice Resurfacer to maintain the ice before, during, and after rentals

  • Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of all ice resurfacing equipment including blade changes, greasing, oil changes, and as needed repairs

  • Perform daily ice maintenance, including but not limited to grooming, edging, scraping, building, and measuring ice depths

  • Assist with yearly ice installation and removal

  • Maintain rink dasher boards and hockey glass including the cleaning and buffing of puck marks and replacing broken glass.

  • Assist with the installation and removal of hockey glass, dasher boards, ice deck, and spectator netting.

  • Assist with building systems including ice rink refrigeration system, HVAC, dehumidifier, water filtration

  • Maintain dedicated curling ice including flooding, scrapping and pebbling.

  • Complete all required preventative maintenance and repairs on the Ice King.

  • Complete all required logs and shift reports.

  • Complete building maintenance and light janitorial work as assigned.

  • Ensure building is opened for patrons in the morning and secure upon closing.

Skate Guard

We are looking for an energetic person to join our team as a skate guard. This position is responsible for keeping the ice safe and a fun space for everyone.

Requirements:

  • Part-time

  • Proficient skater

  • First Aid certified​

  • CPR certified

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the ice to ensure all guests follow the safety protocols

  • Enforce rules and resolve conflicts in a professional manner

  • Be an excellent ISC ambassador by answering questions, offering guidance, and ensuring a friendly atmosphere 

  • Assist people on and off the ice (if needed)

  • Good communication skills

Food & Beverage Team Member

We are looking for F&B Team Members with strong customer service skills, food and beverage experience and the desire to be part of a successful team.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work nights, weekends and some holidays

  • Possess a friendly, customer service-oriented mindset

  • Ability to follow written and oral task lists completely

  • Ability to work as a part of a team, as well as independently to stay engaged

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds

  • Ability to move around the facility

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding customer service and adhere to the Ice Sports Center's operational standards

  • Operate point of sale systems

  • Prepare food and beverages in a safe manner abiding by all health codes

  • Maintain food safety practices & procedures set by Food & Beverage Manager

  • Set up and take down birthday parties and special events as necessary

  • Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner

  • Keep all work areas clean and organized

  • Clean and maintain all public food & beverage areas

National level figure skating instructor

We are looking for a passionate National Level Figure Skating Coach to join our team. This position would be responsible for developing skaters from beginner through elite competitive levels.

Requirements:

  • Hold current PSA and U.S. Figure Skating certifications

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Director of program development

We are looking for a Program Development Director for our Figure Skating School & Training Academy to join our team. This is a senior leadership position responsible for expanding our current programs and elevating the skating experience at the ISC.

Requirements:​

  • 5+ years of coaching experience and 2+ years in a management/supervisory role

  • Strong knowledge of 6.0 (CJS) and IJS scoring systems

  • Certifications with PSA and U.S. Figure Skating

  • Full-time

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:​​

  • Lead the strategic growth of all programs

    • Oversee and design LTS, Aspire, and competitive tracks

    • Develop Theatre on Ice and synchronized skating programs​​​

  • Act as the lead for U.S. Figure Skating/SCHSV sanctioning, testing sessions, and work with club liaison for SafeSport protocols

  • Possess the ability to operate with excellence

    • Oversee, hire and mentor a team of staff coaches​

    • Lead regular safety, standards, and program/activity meetings

  • Oversee the financial health of our in-house skating school

    • Coordinate the annual budget, revenue targets, and marketing partnerships with school manager​

  • Bridge the gap between on-ice technical instruction and off-ice business management

  • Create a premier skating destination in Alabama
