The bids by the qualified contractors were presented to the city last week. Unfortunately, the bids came in much higher than expected. The current economic uncertainty was certainly a major factor. As a result, city leadership has the project on pause as they review and explore every option possible. Mr. Hamilton and Mayor Battle are both aware and support the importance of this project and the impact it will have on our ice programs and its future. We all need to remain patient as city leadership makes the best decision possible. As facility director, I will continue to update you.
